By Larry Kidder | This is what fun, friendship, camaraderie, and—of course—winning look like.

Spring 2018 intramural leagues are nearing the deadline for entries. Monday, April 2, will be the final day to sign up. On April 8, let the games begin.

There are still openings for individuals and teams. Students, faculty, and staff will want to consider breaking away from their busy schedules to enjoy their favorite sport. The intramural staff go to great lengths to ensure that league play starts and ends on time.

“We respect people’s time,” says Edwin Jones, intramurals manager. “Our games begin and end on time, and the sports that require it are well-officiated.”

This allows for individuals on tight schedules to fit in a game between study time, family time, or other priorities—keeping them physically and psychologically balanced. Research shows that exercise will improve not only their overall health, but their ability to focus, making them sharper when they return to their studies or other activities.

“The mix of students with faculty, staff, and community members provides a rewarding experience for our league players,” comments Donald Sease, MBA, director of Drayson Center. “Camaraderie raises the spirits and friendships are forged on the field or on the court.”
