By Larry Kidder | Lori Langford, events and senior wellness manager, has been at Drayson Center since March of 2022. However, we realized she had never been properly introduced. So, here goes …

The "new" events and senior wellness manager, Lori Langford, has been at Drayson Center for more than a year, so she's not really new.

This year's graduation (2023) was Lori's first solo Commencement Sunday as events manager, and the Drayson Center team received many kudos for the all-day event under her leadership and supervision.

Born and raised in Loma Linda, Lori is truly a local. She began working in the LLUH purchasing department in high school. Attending La Sierra University and Loma Linda University, she earned a bachelor's degree in nutrition and dietetics. While still in school at LLU, she took a job as a lifeguard at a brand-new facility on Stewart Street that had just opened its doors. The facility was LLU Drayson Center, and the year was 1995.

Two weeks following her graduation from LLU, she married. She and her husband will be celebrating their 25th wedding anniversary this year.

In 1999, Lori was named manager of aquatics at Drayson Center, where she served until 2005. At that point, she became a full-time mom; her two children are now in college.

In 2015, she returned to LLUH, rejoining the purchasing department as a purchasing agent, primarily in capital equipment, until she made her return to Drayson Center.

As manager of events and senior wellness, Lori has a hand in organizing every event and activity that takes place at Drayson Center. Often, she attends an event or activity herself, always ready to quickly solve any problems or needs that arise. She also spends a good deal of her time working with the Senior Advisory and Planning Committee, organizing and facilitating events and activities for the senior membership at Drayson.

Lori and her family enjoy boating and jet-skiing on the Colorado River, dirt-biking during the winter months, motorcycling around Southern California and beyond, and spending time at the ocean. She also loves traveling and has been to all 50 states in the U.S as well as more than 25 countries abroad.

"I am so grateful to God for being able to work at Drayson Center," she says. "It is such a great environment and team—like a family. I feel very blessed."

If you see Lori around Drayson Center, be sure to welcome her.
